When you're investing in a dock, seawall, boat lift, or waterfront structure, you're investing in more than lumber and hardware. You're investing in your property, your lifestyle, and countless memories on the water. That's why choosing the right contractor matters.
At Coastal Dock and Resurfacing, we believe the difference is in the details—our people, our local knowledge, and our commitment to using quality materials that stand up to the demanding conditions of the South Carolina Lowcountry.
EXPERIENCE YOU CAN TRUST
A successful waterfront project starts with an experienced team. Our crew brings years of hands-on construction expertise, marine construction knowledge, and project management experience to every job.
From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, we focus on clear communication, attention to detail, and craftsmanship that exceeds expectations. Our team understands that every property is unique, and we take pride in creating solutions tailored to each client's needs, budget, and waterfront goals.
Whether we're building a new dock, resurfacing an aging structure, or installing a boat lift, our clients can trust that their project is being completed by professionals who genuinely care about quality.
LOCAL KNOWLEDGE MATTERS
Not all waterfront environments are created equal.
As a locally owned company serving Beaufort, Hilton Head, Bluffton, and the surrounding Lowcountry, we understand the unique challenges that come with building on our coastal waterways. Tides, currents, saltwater exposure, marsh conditions, and local permitting requirements all play a critical role in the success and longevity of a marine construction project.
Our deep roots in the Lowcountry allow us to design and build structures that are not only beautiful but also engineered to perform in our local environment. We know what works here because we live, work, and spend our time on these waters ourselves.
That local knowledge helps us anticipate challenges, streamline projects, and deliver results that stand the test of time.
QUALITY MATERIALS FOR LONG-TERM PERFORMANCE
The Lowcountry's marine environment is beautiful, but it is also incredibly demanding on waterfront structures. Constant exposure to saltwater, humidity, intense sunlight, changing tides, and marine organisms can quickly deteriorate materials that aren't designed for coastal use.
That's why Coastal Dock and Resurfacing uses materials specifically selected to maximize strength, durability, and longevity.
2.5 CCA Treated Piles
Dock piles serve as the foundation of the entire structure and are continuously exposed to water and marine organisms. We use 2.5 CCA-treated piles because they provide superior protection against rot, decay, and marine borers that can compromise untreated or lightly treated wood. This higher treatment level helps ensure the foundation of your dock remains strong for years to come.
.60 CCA Treated Structural Framing
All of our stringers, headers, roof posts, and deck boards are treated to a .60 CCA standard. These structural components are constantly exposed to moisture, salt air, and the elements. The .60 treatment level provides enhanced resistance to fungal decay, insect damage, and moisture-related deterioration, helping maintain the structural integrity of your dock or waterfront structure over the long term.
.15 CCA Treated Handrails
Handrails are typically not exposed to the same level of moisture as structural members, making .15 CCA treatment appropriate while still providing protection against weathering and decay. This allows us to maintain durability without unnecessarily increasing material costs.
Stainless Steel Fasteners
Fasteners are often one of the first components to fail in a marine environment. Salt air and saltwater can rapidly corrode standard hardware, leading to loose boards, weakened connections, and costly repairs. We use stainless steel fasteners because they offer exceptional corrosion resistance and long-term holding power, even in harsh coastal conditions.
Hot-Dipped Galvanized Bolts
For critical structural connections, we use hot-dipped galvanized bolts. The thick zinc coating provides a robust barrier against rust and corrosion, making them ideal for marine construction. These bolts help ensure that key structural components remain securely connected despite years of exposure to the elements.
Built to Last
Every material we select is chosen with one goal in mind: building waterfront structures that withstand the unique challenges of the Lowcountry. By investing in higher-quality materials from the start, we help our clients enjoy safer, stronger, and longer-lasting docks with fewer maintenance concerns down the road.
BUILDING MORE THAN DOCKS
At Coastal Dock and Resurfacing, our mission goes beyond construction. We help homeowners create spaces where families gather, friends connect, and memories are made.
Whether you're fishing at sunrise, launching a boat for an afternoon adventure, or simply enjoying the view from your dock, we want your waterfront experience to be exceptional.
That's the Coastal Dock and Resurfacing difference: experienced professionals, local expertise, and uncompromising quality.
When you're ready to improve your waterfront property, we're ready to help bring your vision to life.
